My name is Veronica Panayotova. I was born in 1990 in Sofia, Bulgaria. I enjoy drawing ever since I was a little girl. My inspiration comes from Bulgarian nature and folk art, from old Bulgarian architecture, from people and their world, from ancient Eastern Orthodox icons.

 I graduated at First Secondary School "Pencho P. Slaveykov", in Sofia. My major was Art, with a focus on Fine Arts. I am a student at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". My major is Fine Arts.

I took part in several competitions and received these awards:

• Award in AQUAFRESH (2001) - Competition for best smiling painting;

• 3rd place in Municipal Competition "I saw myself the disaster" (2002);

• 1st place in the Festival of Amateur Art Activities (2004), Painting Section for 12 to 16 years old children, sponsored by the Sofia Municipality, Lyulin Section;

• 1st place in the 6th National Competition "Folk art is my delight and inspiration", in the Section "Ancient and modern aspects of the Bulgarian folk costume" (2007).

 An icon of mine - "Virgin and Child" ( http://veronicas-creation.com/Icons/Virgin%20and%20child%202.jpg ) was printed in the annual Orthodox calendar for 2009 of "Jenski sviat" (Women's world) newspaper (issue number 51, 2008).
